There are several options available, ranging from Close Patrols where an officer will drive by frequently to a House Check where an officer will physically walk around your house and check your windows, doors and locks. Incident, Arrest and Traffic Crash Reports
What happens after a crime report is filed with a Carrboro Police Officer? An Incident Report is created by officers based upon the information provided by the reporting party, witnesses, suspects and the officers observations. Officers submit these reports to their supervisors for review prior to the end of their shift. After review by supervisors, the Incident Report will typically be available within 24 to 48 hours. Arrest Reports are filed when a subject is arrested as a result of an investigation or issuance of a Order for Arrest or Warrant for Arrest.
Traffic Crash Reports are completed after officers respond to and investigate a traffic crash that occurred within the Town of Carrboro. Traffic Crash Reports will typically be available within 24 to 48 hours.

Bicycle Registration Form
New to town? Need to register your bicycle?
Registering your bicycle with the Carrboro Police Department ensures that your serial number is recorded. In the unlikely event that your bicycle is stolen, it is many times more likely to be recovered if officers know your serial number!
**ATTENTION UNC STUDENTS** If you registered your bicycle with UNC Department of Public Safety, the Carrboro Police Department CANNOT access this information. If you wish for your bicycle to be registered with the Carrboro Police Department, you will still have to fill this form out.
FINGERPRINTING SERVICES are for Town of Carrboro Residents ONLY
Appointments for fingerprinting may be made by calling 919-918-7397.
This service is by appointment only WEDNESDAY's 10 am thru 11:45am.
You will need to bring 3 items to be fingerprinted:
1. Proof of residency within the Town limits of Carrboro
2. Valid/current identification
3. $20 cash or check
You may also contact the Orange County Sheriff's Office about the fingerprinting services they offer.
Uniform Crime Report Crime Data
Uniform Crime Report (UCR) data is collected by the Federal Bureau of Investigation from over 14,000 police departments nationwide. Access UCR data online. The most recent data available in completed form is from 2012. The attached spreadsheet can be opened in Microsoft Excel and shows Carrboro's statistics compared to other municipalities in Orange County and to several similar sized municipalities located in North Carolina.

Our Administrative Office currently employs a bilingual (English/Spanish) staff member Monday - Friday between the hours of 8:30 a.m. & 5 p.m.
Go in person to the Carrboro Police Department from 9:00 a.m. - 3:00p.m. or apply here. Please bring current valid identification and $5.00 (cash or check) for each applicant. Also bring $10.00 cash only for a refundable deposit towards your Town of Carrboro Solicitor ID card. The 10.00 deposit will be returned to you as long as your Carrboro Solicitor ID card is returned no later than 5 business days after expiration.
